Fall Feels

Monday, October 24, 2016

It finally feels like fall.... haha no it doesn't I live in Texas-it's still in the 80's!  This outfit might make you think that it has been in the low 60's but in all actuality the only thing 60's in this photo is this

Mondays post is A.) late to the blog and B.) kinda long and not my normal post but I have had a lot of people asking about my beauty routine.  Now I am probably the furthest thing from a makeup expert,

PINK is my favorite color

Friday, October 14, 2016

OMG this neon skirt is my new obsession.  First off back in the day when I was a stylist we carried this Trina Turk skirt and it was amazing!  I wanted it so bad, not only was it neon PINK but it was lace.  Unfortunately for me it was really really expensive-even with a discount so I never purchased it, but it was always on my mind.  So when I stumbled upon this almost identical skirt at JCPenny for under $30.00 I knew I had to have it.

For work I paired it with a white peplum top and navy blazer.  Threw in some of my new silver baubles given to me by James Avery and my go to leopard heels to jazz it up a bit.

This outfit is a little daring with the top and the bold colored skirt but I really love how it all looks together, still classic enough for the office but chic enough for dinner with friends.  The best part is the skirt is still on sale and I linked a similar blazer that is also on sale!!!

I have linked my outfit details below!

I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend!

Weekend Recap

Monday, October 10, 2016

This weekend was a whirlwind. Does anyone else feel like the weekend was too short?  On Friday I drug Ryan to see Girl on the Train at my favorite theater, Look.  I know he wasn't too thrilled about this movie but he sucked it up and took me on date night to see the movie I have been dying to see since reading the book. Once we got out of the movie we headed for the bathrooms.  I was waiting patiently outside on my phone when a man walks near me and asks if someone would take a picture

Dress 6: Orange Midi

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Somedays you just need an easy outfit to throw on to get through the day.  I am obsessed with this orange jersey midi dress I picked up a few years ago from Old Navy!  Not only is it an easy go to but the care for this garment is pretty low maintenance!

For work I added a blue and green tassel necklace, simple gold earrings and some cognac heels!  Threw in my new bucket bag I scored for a mere 20.00 and I have a no brainer outfit!  Sometimes keeping the look simple is just what you need!

To recreate this look see the links below!

Day 3: Am I crazy to mix this all together?

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

So Day 3 here, and I might have lost my mind...  A cargo trench and a floral dress???  How can these two things go together?  Well, technically I guess they don't but that's sort of the beauty in fashion right, breaking the rules!  What I love most about this outfit is that I gave life to two things in my

Mad for the Midi

Thursday, June 9, 2016

This post is a little different in that I am sharing a dress that I have been loving on all of my favorite bloggers- but I found a DUPE for even LESS than the already LOW price!

This dress has seriously been flooding my news feed and right before I was about to cave and hit "add to bag" I got an email at work stating that we were going to be stocking a very similar version!  I was so excited for it to come in.  Was it going to be similar, or would the fabric be different?  Sometimes you just never know, but when it finally came in I realized it was the Perfect Dupe at a lower price.

Below is a picture of the Wayf version from Nordstrom and the Liz and Honey version so you can make your own comparison!  Identical right?  Well, almost the Liz and Honey version is actually cheaper and they still offer the free shipping, plus if you use my code Amelia10 you save an extra 10%- but hurry sizes are limited!

I love being inspired by my favorite bloggers, but at the same time I want to make sure that I style it to my taste.  To give this look my own spin I added a tan Ada belt to show that I have a figure and then threw in some fun summer accessories for a little whimsy!  I love how bright and clean this look is and it will be something that I pack for our trip to Florida later this summer.

Weekend recap on Wednesday!

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Today's post is a quick little weekend recap because it was just too AMAZING to not share, and its filled with good food recommendations!  My BFF drove up from Houston on Friday and after a brief time shopping at my work we ended up on a beautiful Spanish influenced patio for margaritas and queso.  If you are a Mexican food lover you MUST check out Meso Maya.  We went to their down town location because it was the perfect meeting place for the girls, about halfway for all of us!  I am obsessed with their patio, its like you are in a small Spanish courtyard perfect for date night or drinks with the ladies.  All of their cocktails are hand crafted in their kitchen- the swirl and avocado margarita are on my favorites list.  Now, the food is also DELICIOUS, it was so hard for me to choose but I ended up splitting the Mole enchiladas with my girl Kristina for the perfect amount of food.
Can we talk about these margaritas?!

The night was still young after dinner so we grabbed a few drinks on the patio of the Happiest Hour!  If you want a fabulous view of the Dallas skyline head up to the rooftop bar for a refreshing craft beer and a view to blow you away.  But get there early or you might have to fight the crowds.  I love the atmosphere and diversity of the crowed... even if I did feel a little humbly dressed in an off the shoulder gingham midi dress!  The guys even joined us for a drink, and can I say their beer selection is off the chain!
The Happiest Hour really is a Happy Place!  Perfect for selfies.

Saturday morning we took a walk to Rusty Taco for some more tacos, because in Texas no two taco joints are the same!  After that we headed to the craft store for some supplies to make necklaces and hats, I mean what is a girls weekend without some crafts and girl talk?  After an eventful day of crafting we decided to keep with the chill them and grill out.  We watched a few YouTube tutorials on beauty and make up trends.

Best friends

Sunday was time for my bestie to leave, but not without grabbing a little grub from my new favorite brunch spot Chicken Scratch.  I had a Hillbilly Slurpee to wash down my chicken and waffles because any drink that contains "freedom" has to be good right (no actually it doesn't- apparently I do not like Kentucky whiskey)?  If you live in or visit Dallas I urge you to visit, this place will leave you 10 pounds heavier but also with a super happy tummy!  I haven't had a thing there I haven't LOVED.  I strongly recommend the Coconut Chicken and Waffles- SO DANG GOOD!  The atmosphere is also super cute, you almost feel like you are out in the country not Dallas!

Whiskey + Coke + Freedom

Ya'll this is what heaven is made of!

Happy Hump day!
