Part 2: The Little Black Jeans

Friday, February 24, 2017

Since fashion is a form of non-verbal communication, I like to say what I mean and mean what I say. With that being said, I like to wear what I want how I want. I’m elated that Amelia chose me to collaborate with her on this post because jeans are one of my favorite articles of clothing to wear. They are a classic and there are many different ways you can wear them to show your personal style.

My personal style is edgy, sexy and sophisticated. I am also known to go into high fashion moments unexpectedly to spice things up a bit, so YES Amelia is correct! I wore two skirts in one outfit! I like to freely express myself with confidence and fashion allows me to do just that.

Finding the “perfect” jeans is difficult, but when you do you want to be able to create different looks so that you can wear them often. For my look, I chose to dress the jeans up with heels, but pair them down with a charcoal bodysuit and a white leather jacket. This look is perfect for a girl’s night out! I can easily transform this outfit to a daytime look by losing the jacket and throwing on a pair of ballet flats or sneakers. I love for my style to look effortless and well put together. I love black and I love jeans! What more could a girl ask for? The truth is in the jeans!

To see more of my style follow me on instagram @lataricar. I am also a designer, so follow my business page @boutiqueleay to keep up with the latest.

Cheers to the perfect jeans and looking fabulous!

Because you have to have at least one outtake!

XOXO,

Thred Up!

Monday, February 20, 2017

Having to wear business attire 4 days out of the week has made me beef up my work wear game (I sort of miss my days of yoga pants and t-shirts).  I always try to buy pieces that can transition to work

All about that lace

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

Sharing my favorite top today from Liz and Honey!  Not only has this top been on REPEAT but because I have enjoyed it so much I went back and got it in blush too!  Ive been wearing it nonstop and just cannot get enough of it, between the lace up details and the bell sleeves what isn't to love!
This top seriously goes with EVERYTHING.  I have paired it with flare jeans for a boho vibe and then made it a little trendier with distressed skinnies and booties.  Because this top is lightweight I think it will transition into spring really well!  How cute will it be with cut off shorts and cute wedges?!

Whenever I buy something I really try to visualize my closet to see what it could go with.  Then if I decide to get it I look through Pinterest in my free time to get outfit inspiration.  One of the biggest questions I used to get when I was a stylist was "how to get the most out of my closet"  and one of the things I would tell people is to try pairing things with different items, like flare jeans vs. skinny jeans.  Or think transition outfits... long sleeves paired with shorts for the spring or early fall.

If you keep that mindset when you shop it can really help you not buy the same things over and over( I am so guilty of this... I seriously have a thing for white dresses, I just purchased my first black dress a few weeks ago) , plus you will also find the gaps that you have in your closet!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!  Here's to being half way through the week!!

Valentine's OOTD

Monday, February 13, 2017

Ryan and I haven't celebrated an actual Valentine's Day in a few years ALL because of a disastrous staycation at the NYLO Plano that ruined what was supposed to be a romantic evening.

Sale shopping: my secret weapon

Monday, February 6, 2017

I always get LOTS of questions about how I am able to find such good deals.  I honestly think it's an art that I have developed over time.  That being said I also use really handy little tools and keep track of sales to help me be on top of my sale game.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Well hello February... you sure did come fast!  I cannot believe that Valentines day is two weeks away.  Ryan and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and now we are swiftly approaching the "LOVE" holiday!

I decided to put together a little gift guide of things I want/love that I think would make the perfect gift for that special someone.  Items range in price so I am sure there is something in everyones budget!

I would love to know if there are anythings that you are coveting this V-Day?!

Eliza J Dress:  Y'all this dress is GORGEOUS on!  Ryan just surprised me with it for our anniversary!  I have a wedding in NYC this summer and I think this will fit the bill!  Plus it is on SALE for under $200.00!

James Avery Earrings:  I am totally crazy for these personalized stud earrings!  I am just crossing my fingers cupid can relay this message to a certain someone!  Gold version $60.00 per stud, silver $19.

Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks:  I love that I can get a mini set of 4 in the prettiest berry tones.  These can easily take you from winter to spring!  Plus this set is only $25.00

Moda Prismatic Face Perfecting Kit:  I just purchased these after running around to every Walmart in a 15 mile radius, and they were worth it!  I love how easily they blend out my makeup and can we talk about how perfect these are for the merbabe/MUA, these also cost under $20.  Unfortunately you can only get them in Walmart right now but they will be for sale on Royal Brush's website starting February 6th-limited quantities and they are charging $24, so track them down at Walmart if you can!

Marc Fisher Wedges:  Im dying for these... and the Chloe version.  I don't feel like a "real" blogger because I have yet to add these into my shoe rotation.  I am praying these end up in my arsenal soon... I might be seeing a Nordstrom's trip in my future!

James Avery Ring:  I love this ring so much!  It is a total SPLURGE but thats okay...I can dream right.  Between the hammered detail, pink stone, and gold setting this is sure to wow any girls heart!

Christian Louboutin Lipstick:  I have been saving my NM gift card for one of these... I love the artistic design of the tube and how luxurious it feels to me.  I'm digging the Matte color Diva for the perfect sexy red lip!

I hope you like my picks... Happy Month of Love everyone!
