Eliza J. New York

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

It is no secret that I love dresses, I mean I have an entire walk in closet bursting at the seams full of them. I am and have always been loyal to my “brands”, and when I was on the hunt for a particular dress I assumed it would be from one of my favorites.

So let’s back track a bit…. A few months ago I was out with some friends when I saw this girl in the most darling dress. I had to know where it was from, so I asked. She told me Nordstrom; which was helpful but, seriously Nordstrom is a department store so I would assume they have more than five dresses. Well that night I got online and searched the entire site, I found the dress and it was on sale. Since it was around midnight I decided to go to sleep and order it in the morning, clearly a decision I would regret come 9:00 am when my size was sold out.

The dress was still on my mind by midafternoon, and I remembered I had come across a similar one at Dillards a week earlier. So I headed to my closest Dillards and the similar dress was still there. I was so excited, plus this one was on sale for a better deal and had the cutest yellow band on the hem. This would be what sparked my love for the brand Eliza J. Their dresses are so timeless and tasteful, with the perfect Fit and just the right amount of flare. And POCKETS..I love dresses with pockets! I tend to gravitate towards a fit and flare style. I love how they give you a small waist and hide the area that you don’t want people to see (and you don’t have to suck it in).

After finding this Dress I styled it for a nautical look, and if that wasn’t enough Eliza J. reposted my instagram photo to their own instagram and twitter feeds. I felt so honored, even Purdy had her 10 min of fame since she photo bombed me! After the love affair with that dress I was on the hunt for more, to date I think that I have 15 of their dresses! Now if you are like me and can’t quite afford 15 dresses at over 100.00 a piece you are in LUCK! You still have time to snag some from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I have found a few of them on Ebay, Amazon, Dillards, Neiman Marcus Last Call, and Nordstrom Rack for a fraction of the price. The quality is absolutely amazing and I recommend them to anyone looking for a special dress that will be sure to draw a compliment. Check out their website here to see their current line!

Here is one of my recent purchases from Nordstrom rack and how I styled it.

The Perfect Peplum

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

This top is seriously one of my favorites!  It's A.) peplum, B.) neon,  and C.) AMAZING...need I say more.  I normally do not splurge on clothes, but this I had to have.  I missed out on it when it was sold at Anthropologie a few seasons ago, and have kicked myself ever since (especially when it went on clearance).  I knew when I saw it surface on ebay a few months ago for a fraction of the price I couldn't miss out!  And it does not disappoint.  There is so much detail and color, I get a million compliments on it every time I wear it, which reaffirms that I made the right choice!  For todays post I paired it with a simple cropped pant and some really fun neutral heels.

Rompin' Around

Monday, July 28, 2014

I officially have jumped on the romper bandwagon, and can I say what on earth took me so long!  I will be honest, I am a little self conscious as are most women and I always felt that rompers would fit me all sorts of wrong, and well some of them do!  I recently discovered this boutique in Austin, TX called Longhorn Fashions, I love everything that Tessie the owner carries, especially all the cute burnt orange items!  Finally cute and trendy fashion for game day!

Anyway, I follow her insta feed and a few weeks ago she posted this to die for floral romper!

I mean seriously I wanted to buy it that instant, but I was hesitant.  Living in Dallas what if I get it and it looks horrid...do I really want to go though the hassle of returning it?  Well after a few weeks I bit the bullet and ordered it!  When it arrived it was love at first sight.  It has a low cut back, frills, and floral...what more could I ask for.  The adjustable straps make it easy to adjust!  If you haven't tried on a romper yet I encourage you to do so, you might actually find it was worth it!

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday!

Well, this LOONNGG weekend was a full one!!  It's going to make for a slow week I think.  Thursday night Ryan and I headed out to see Fitz & the Tantrums at the House of Blues.  I spontaneously bought tickets a few weeks ago, and it was worth every penny.  They were so Amazing and even better live!  Since Ryan and I are used to going to bed at 10:00 on a work night we decided to take Friday off and sleep in a bit before our big drive to Houston to see Kristina and Dylan.
Fitz & The Tantrums
Friday we slept in until about 9:00, and were lazy till about 1:30 when we headed to Houston.  Once we got there we headed to Top Golf for some golfing and drinks.  Since we had planned on a shopping trip we decided to call it an early night.

my goofy dog refuses to sit in the seat..she opts for this

Saturday we were up bright and early to hit TJ Maxx, The outlets, and Nordstrom Rack.  We both found some good buys that will be coming to the blog in a later post.  My prized possession is this animal head (not sure what animal it actually is, but whatever).  I have been waiting for something to motivate me to decorate my spare room, and that was just what I needed.

10.00 shorts!  and a creepy changing room selfie
Sunday we made the 3 hour drive back to Dallas..only it took us 6 hours because they shut down the freeway for some freak accident!  I have never been so happy to be home.  Sitting on I-45 at a dead stop for 3 hours will make the most sane person go crazy...and did I mention we were in po-dunk NO WHERE so we had ZERO cell service.  I am so thankful for the man who told us a short cut out of that mess!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Lime Green and Plaid

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

For todays outfit post I went a little out of my element.  A few months ago I ordered this skirt from Chicwish.  I was sort of hesitant since their sizing seemed to run small compared to sizes in America, but for the price I couldn't pass it up.  I love how bright it is and that you can pair it with almost anything to make a fun outfit!  I can't wait until it gets cooler and I can pair it with some tights and cute booties.  I love having an article of clothing I can use in all seasons!
