Last weekend Ryan and I made a trip out to visit his parents.  We have been so busy lately that it has been hard to get out of Dallas.  We had a lot of celebrating to do and catch up on;  birthdays, mother's day and finally father's Day.  We drove down after work on Friday night so not much was done once we arrived.  Saturday was a great day spent by the pool snacking on the most amazing cucumber sandwiches before our dinner plans, just relaxing and enjoying the sun.

For dinner we had reservations at Enoc's Stomp.  It is a small vineyard just outside of Longview.  The vineyard is nestled back in the piney woods of East Texas, I think that is half of its charm and why I love it so much.  When you drive up you start to see the rows of vines as you make your way up the hill, once at the top you get a breathtaking view of the winery restaurant and tasting room.  We had a great spot right by the window and were able to enjoy our meal overlooking the property as the sun set.

Since it was hot and humid I opted for this simple maxi dress from Jessica Simpson.  I will be honest I hunted and hunted for this dress to link, but it simply cannot be found.  I did link some similar ones and will keep searching for it!  The dress was really long (normally not an issue for me) so I added a belt around my waist mainly to keep me from accidentally stepping on the dress causing the top to slip down and provide everyone a free show!  I am obsessed with the color and the ease of this boho style dress, totally my go to this summer.  I am sure you will see this on repeat this summer!

Well this week is a short week for me, and Friday cannot come fast enough.  I am ready for BBQ with family and friends and of course fireworks!!  Do you all have any plans for the 4th of July??  I hope everyone has a great week, Happy Monday Everyone!

From Dress to skirt

// Dress: 1.state  (40% off) // Top: Nordstrom, same brand similar style(40% off) // shoes: BCBG (old) Similar style // Bracelets: David Yurman, David Yurman, James Avery, Kendra Scott // Watch: Michael Kors (on Sale) // Rings: James avery, James Avery //

A few weeks ago I decided to make this fab dress into a really cute skirt by adding a chambray shirt to give the illusion of a skirt and top.  To say this look was a hit would be an understatement.  I received so many compliments on it, that I just had to share the look on my blog, did I also mention TJ Maxx featured this look on their instagram page!  I was so excited they liked the look as much as I did!

I have tagged the items that were available so that you too can recreate this awesome outfit!  I really love adding shirts to dresses because it instantly makes that dress serve double duty!

I am back with a new blog post about this super nautical look! Since it is summer and super close to the 4th of July I decided to rock a nautical inspired outfit. If you have followed this blog for a while than you have likely seen this dress before (here), for today’s look I decided to pair this fab dress with my green blazer to break from the traditional red white and blue nautical looks! I really like how well the green and blue complement each other. To tie it all together I added my Cole Haan boat shoes and some gold jewelry! Now all I need is a yacht and a vacation on the water!

All of the items pictured are sold out or no longer available so I tried to link some similar products below!

Leaving on a jet plane!

Happy Friday!  I am officially in vacation mode, Like I am literally on a plane right now to a little resort in Texas for some much needed R & R with friends.  I decided to mix up my post today and bring you my packing situation!!  If you know me you know that “packing light” is not in my vocabulary.  I know I will be gone for 3 days but with golf, pool time, horseback riding, skeet shooting, hiking, and who knows what else I have to have options.  So here are a few snaps of some outfits I will be rocking on my vacation!  What do you think?  Are any of you over packers?  I honestly need to learn to consolidate because I am getting super close to hitting that 50 lb limit!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

// Dress: Eliza J(no longer available) // Purse: Phillip Lim // Shoes: Born from DSW (No longer available)  // Necklace: Kendra Scott(no longer available) //

It is Wednesday and I am already in vacation mode.  I have been pretty slow at work and with the majority of my department out on business trips have been holding down the fort and staying in the office.  I feel like this week is dragging on…at the slowest possible pace, even my emails and phone calls seem to be nonexistent.  Luckily I had a little fun with my outfit to make my day a little better.  I mixed the simplicity of black and white with bright pops of fuchsia.  I love how it all ties in together even if the shades are off a little bit!

I hope you all have a fantastic hump day!

Happy Monday Everyone! I know we just got out of a beautiful weekend but I am already looking forward to the coming weekend! Why you ask? Our good friends invited us on a weekend getaway to a resort out in West Texas. Not only am I excited to get away, but the fact that Ryan and I have found a couple of awesome people to travel with and hang with has been one of the biggest blessings in our lives.

A little side story about our friends, Jordan was my little in my sorority (Delta Gamma). We never really hung out too much in college but once we graduated and moved to Dallas we reconnected and became fast friends. Ryan and I started dating about the time that her and her now husband Patrick started dating, it seems so long ago meeting up at Mc Faddens and getting to meet her true love, but now a marriage and many fun adventures later they are our go to couple for fun in and around Dallas. We have started this new tradition of trying a new restaurant/bar in Dallas once a month. So far we have tried the Meddlesome Moth and this past weekend was a trip to Hatties and the Deep Ellum Brewery! I cannot wait to see what all the future holds for us over the next few years!!

Now I need to be honest here… I am obsessed with this dress…LIKE A LOT! So much so I have worn it twice since Friday! So hopefully no one will notice I am repeating this outfit, but what is more perfect for sunny Texas days than an embroidered shift dress complete with the cutest detailing on the sleeves and neckline. For the weekend I paired it with my BCBG wedges and some layered necklaces. Unfortunately due to all the mud that is left over from our month of rain they were not really work appropriate and quite frankly were looking a hot mess! For the office I traded the wedges for some jeweled sandals and a cardigan. If you do not follow Liz & Honey on IG you need to…like right now…I’ll wait and let you go follow them! They have the cutest boutique clothing at affordable prices. They also have some pretty amazing sales! I was able to pick up this little number for under 20.00 when they were having a sale and I have already worn it twice in 3 days (so I am totally getting my money’s worth out of it)! I love finding pieces you love that don’t break the bank! Also if you are loving what they have to offer use my referral link below to receive 10.00 off your first purchase!!! Happy shopping!!
