Dress: Eliza J (no longer available but similar styles here)

Do you ever buy something for a special occasion like a wedding or party that you might not wear on a regular basis? I know I do, especially for weddings. I always feel like I need a new outfit for every special occasion because I know there will always be a photo or two and I just cannot be photographed in the same outfit twice (haha just kidding about the photo part). Breathing new life into my closet is something I am always looking to do. So today I decided to show you how to style your special occasion dress into a fun business style outfit that you could wear out with friends or even to work.

Style 1.
Here is what I would wear to a wedding. Dress, blingy necklace and earrings, a cute clutch, and some killer heels. Perfect for dancing the night away and looking pretty for all those professional wedding photos.

Style 2.
To make this transition into everyday wear I lost the blingy necklace, Instead I subbed two smaller necklaces for the one statement piece. To tone down the dress I threw on a solid structured blazer; not only does this cover my arms but it tones down the busy pattern of the dress. Instantly this dress goes from party to professional with minimal tailoring. You could even substitute the pink belt for a patent black leather one to make this outfit a little more professional. To complete the look I went with a simple understated heel and wavy hair, but in true Amelia fashion I added a bold bag (you know I gotta keep it festive).

Style 3.

And if this is a little too professional for you, try adding a simple cardigan and belt it on the outside. I opted for this simple pair of flats in a bright metallic to complete the look. I can easily remove the sweater if I get warm.

The best part about this is that I instantly made 3 outfits out of one dress, simply by adding and subtracting elements from my own closet.

Have a fabulous Evening and a great day!
