My parents currently live on an acreage out in the middle of no where...like seriously I am pretty sure even google doesn't know where they are! Besides being almost off the grid and like 2 hours from the nearest Target it's a great retreat to go to and get away from our busy lives in the big city. As much as I act like I hate it I honestly love it, I was able to read almost 2 full books and spend some quality time with my brother and parents. I even drug my poor brother on a little road trip to Marfa, TX (more on that in another post).
When Im out on "The Duckworth Ranch" I don't tend to get too dressed up there because there isn't anywhere to go and you just never know what you might be doing so relaxing/working clothes is the uniform for me. My only outfit I wore (besides on our Marfa trip) was this easy outfit. A cute top from the clearance girls section of Target and some fun printed shorts. It was perfect for lunch in New Mexico and sitting on the back patio with my book. Once I finished book number 2 I took ava on a walk around the property looking for rabbits..her favorite part. Don't worry she is way too slow to catch one and even if she did I am pretty sure she would kiss it to death.
Now that we are back I am starting to miss sitting on the back patio watching the thunderstorms and reading a good book, but then I remember how much I love Target and cell phone service!
