Day 10: Tiered to perfection

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Have you ever fallen in love with something that just wasn't even remotely doable?  That is how I felt about this dress.  I even ordered a vintage pattern from the 70's in hopes of sewing my own version.  I figured for the $9.00 I spent on the pattern and the $10-20 I'd spend on the fabric I was way better off attempting to make my own dress than forking over $500 for this simple frock!

Well between work and planning a wedding I don't know who I was kidding when I thought I would have time to make my own dress!  But as luck would have it the fashion Gods were shining down on me Sunday and I was able to grab this dress for just under $53.00!  that's a HELL of a lot better than $575.00!  It was honestly just dumb luck on finding this dress.  It had sold out online and Anthropologie just happened to have it stuffed in the back and marked down an extra 40% off, so this puppy was a no-brainer.

Sadly I wasn't able to find this dress at an AMAZING deal but I did find it on sale and a fun version that is in my opinion just as cute!  One of the things that I wanted to do when styling this look was to belt it.  Obviously, it is flowy and non-form fitting which can sometimes make you look larger rather than smaller.  I grabbed my trusty Ada belt that can be tied in a million and one ways to give a more fitted look.  Since our mornings are still a bit cold I paired the look with a denim jacket and a fun printed espadrille.  Dress 10 is definitely coming in strong!
