It has been a HOT minute since my last post... that is what happens when you move and you lose
everything to piles of boxes that you have yet to unpack!  But I am slowly unboxing my life and getting my crap together.  Work has been hectic and last month was definitely a tough one for me!  But we are starting this month brand new and with a POSITIVE outlook!

Todays post is about creating effortlessly styled looks with just a few pieces and one of my favorite tricks of the trade!

So how many of you are guilty of buying things that are technically not in your size?  Insert like 50 hand raising emojis here.  I used to be SO BAD about that, like if I wanted it I was going to make that work, even when it didn't.  But sometimes I feel like you can get away with it if you think it through enough.  Perfect example this oversized-looking sweater.

My Photographer La' Tarica told me to do something with my leg and this is what I did... naturally!

It was SO COLD!

I am super into that oversized-I borrowed this from my boyfriend trend, and when I couldn't find the perfect sweater I scanned outside of my normal sizing range, then I found this little gem.  After trying it on and seeing that it was passable as "oversized" I played with ways to style it.  To make the arms look less baggy I cuffed the sleeves which gives it the "boyfriend" vibe and adds a bit of detail.  I paired it with my denim leggings and boots that had a similar color pallet to tie it all in.  My finishing touch was the camel and plaid coat.  I  wanted to add an accent color and some extra pattern and this was an easy way to do it, if you didn't have the perfect coat a chunky blanket scarf would have been another great option

As a stylist I am forced to think outside of the box on a daily basis which has taught me to think that way when I am shopping for myself.  So next time you are out and about don't be afraid to head to the mens section or outside of your normal sizing to achieve the look you are wanting!

Happy Monday!
